Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences. University of Chile.

Well, as I am finishing the last semester of my degree, I had the opportunity to learn about the diversity of subjects that make up the chemistry and pharmacy mesh. A curriculum oriented with a strong foundation in exact sciences such as Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. At times I felt that the pace of the University was intense, many seminars, a lot of reading papers in English and even in other languages and for students who have to work out of necessity and at the same time study, it is sacrificed. Perhaps from that point of view, the subjects could reduce a little the number of seminars and have a smaller number of them but with more content to cover, I repeat, it’s for a matter of “times. ” For the rest, I have nothing more to say, for me to study this course has been a very enriching experience, the curriculum is very complete, that allows us Pharmaceutical Chemists to work in a wide variety of areas, such as the regulatory part of drugs working in such important organizations as the Institute of Public Health, the classic community pharmacy that can be of chains. or a smaller one, working in pharmaceutical lab in both production, quality control, drug pharmacovigilance or research and development area, and well countless other areas.

As for the facilities of the University, because of the Pandemic context that is still present, perhaps the laboratories should be a little larger in order to be able to develop this important area for every pharmaceutical. On the other hand, note that in technology is a career that is very up-to-date in terms of this. And the teaching methods that I have observed are diverse, and in diversity is learning, so I must say that I agree.

And now that I’m at the end of this long road, I’m very happy to have had the opportunity to reinvent myself, and I’m doing it.
